5% LUGOL’S IODINE

Lugol’s Iodine is a solution of elemental iodine and potassium iodide in distilled water. It was originally created by Jean Guillaume Auguste Lugol in 1829.

NOTE: 5% Lugol’s has a very dark brown color and will heavily stain the skin when applied. This is normal and expected.

Most likely not. Iodine is volatile—it releases vapor that can escape slightly during transport. This vapor may discolor the label even without a liquid leak. If your label is stained but not wet and the bottle is properly sealed, the contents are safe and uncompromised.
